The final of the competition was held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 in the Collège des Bernardins. The First Prize was awarded to Mathieu Barbin et Robin Stephenson, for their interpretation of Rachmaninoff's Sonata for cello and piano. For a brief overview of the final, click here!

“Dear Candidates,
From the outset, the fervour and enthusiasm of the students taking part in the Sforzando Competition and the obvious pleasure they take in sharing their love of music both with each other and with a wider audience have been a constant source of joy to the organizing committee and to ourselves personally. We hope that many of you will once again be taking part in the next competition in 2011 and whilst there is no doubt that you will give of your very best in the hope of winning, our wish is that, whatever the final outcome, you will enjoy the sheer pleasure of making music!
